All things considered —and after a whole lot more reasonable research— I might actually be able to start on a degree building on what I already have. To keep costs down and build up to something that is workable and affordable (and, in my own particular manner, might actually be able to justify my work paying for some of it), I can go on and do the “distance learning” so that I don’t actually have to go to classes and can do this in my spare time. When I look over everything that I do in a given day (or on a weekend), I have a ton of free time to spend on this. All I need is to be able to pay for it. But I could certainly get all the core materials out of the way in two years or less. It just depends on what they will let me carry over from the credits I took toward my other degrees.
In the end, I think I’m going to cruise on over to a Humanities Degree focusing on Philosophy/Religion with the aim of using everything I have already to build toward a Masters Degree in Religious Studies. I can do the core on the local community college with a transfer to University of Texas to finish up the undergraduate work and move into the graduate work.
Those of you privy to my mad scientist scholar ideas, I’m sure, can see where this is all headed. LOL!
(And on top of it all, I may have gotten Jenn finally off her butt to go get her GED and then off to school with her!)
